When It Rains, You Get Wet...

With the sound of police sirens fading off in the distance, I ran until I felt that I was far enough from the scene that I could now walk.  Oh man, I'm panting heavily because I'm out of breath.  I started getting that light-headed feeling.  This is too much stuff going on at once.  Where do you go when you have nowhere to go?  Hmmm, I'm about to find out!  It's bad enough that I need to figure out who set me up to clear my name.  But, I also want to make sure that whoever did this pays for what they have done.  I  couldn't have done this!  I respect my life and the lives of others way too much.  Of course I have gotten mad, infuriated sometimes but so have you.  I don't have a malicious bone in my body.  Whoever did this better hope the cops get a hold of them before I do!  As I hustled down the street, every time a car passed, I got that uneasy feeling; a knot in my stomach.  Not only do I have to watch out for the police, whoever did this, might come back for me.  And they have the upper hand because I don't know who they are.  Alright, I have to figure out a roundabout way to go to my friends' house.  Just as I found my way to his neighborhood, there was a loud clap of thunder.  It was so unexpected and loud that it made my heart skip a beat.  The sky looked ominous and moments after the thunder, the rain started pouring down.  Fuck, I have to run.  I was dashing from one overhang to the next.  But, before long, my clothes were drenched so I started walking as though I was taking a casual stroll through the park.  I don't think this day could get any better.  To make my travel time go a little quicker, I began crossing through backyards.  All of a sudden, there was a break in the clouds and, by this point, the rain had subsided to a light drizzle.  I hopped the fence that surrounded this one backyard and...
"Woof woof woof," a dog as big as a horse barked.
Did I tell you that I grew up running from deranged dogs?  To my credit, I haven't been caught to this day.  Here we go!  I took off like an Olympic sprinter...
